Alta X is Freefly’s flagship heavy-lift multirotor, designed to carry large cinema cameras or industrial payloads like LiDAR, mapping sensors, and specialized survey equipment. With a maximum payload of roughly 33–35 lb and up to 50 minutes of endurance with no payload, it’s built for long missions and demanding jobs. 

This Essentials Kit combines the NDAA/DIU Blue–compliant Alta X configuration with the Pilot Pro ground controller and all the core power and mounting accessories you need to start flying billable missions:

  • Alta X (NDAA build) with Remote ID configured for BVLOS-compliant operations

  • Pilot Pro controller with Alta-specific QGC flight software and RFD900 radio

  • Six 12S 16Ah batteries (three pairs) and an enterprise dual-channel charger

  • Skid landing gear + 12 mm rail payload mount for LiDAR, cameras, and other 3rd-party payloads

  • Replacement ActiveBlade props (CW/CCW)

All packed in dedicated travel cases for the aircraft and controller, so the system is ready to deploy on site

With no payload, Alta X can reach up to ~50 minutes. With mapping or LiDAR payloads in the 8–12 lb range, you can expect roughly 30–35 minutes, and even with ~20–22 lb payloads, flight times around 20–22 minutes are achievable, depending on conditions and configuration.

Yes. The Alta X platform, Pilot Pro controller, and RFD900 radio link used in this kit are described as NDAA compliant and DIU Blue–listed, which is why this bundle is often specified for government and critical-infrastructure programs that restrict foreign components.
